OUR STORY

BLACK COPPER Arts, Inc. is a multidisciplinary contemporary cultural institution rooted in publishing, artist-centered programming, and cultural documentation.

Founded in 2020 in New York City, BLACK COPPER was built on the belief that contemporary culture deserves infrastructure — not just attention. That artists deserve institutions invested in their longevity, not just their visibility. That publishing, programming, and public dialogue are not separate endeavors but a single, continuous act of cultural preservation.

We operate at the intersection of contemporary art, editorial practice, and community-centered storytelling. Through our publications, programs, and artist ecosystem, we create platforms that connect artists, audiences, and institutions — and build the kind of record that lasts.

BLACK COPPER is not a magazine. It is not a brand. It is an institution in the making — one that measures its work not in impressions, but in impact. Not in content, but in culture.

OUR MISSION

To archive, elevate, and amplify the stories, voices, and visions shaping our culture through art, education, publishing, and community engagement.

WHAT WE DO

Publishing

We produce editorial publications that document contemporary art and culture with rigor and intention. Each issue is a record — of a moment, a movement, a community of artists whose work demands to be seen and preserved.

Programs

Our public programs — exhibitions, conversations, screenings, and community gatherings — extend the work of publishing into lived experience. Every program is an institutional initiative, not just an event.

BC Market

BC Market is a curated artist ecosystem connecting collectors and cultural participants directly with original works, artist editions, and curated collaborations. It is not a shop. It is an extension of our commitment to artist support and cultural commerce.

Publishing Services

We partner with artists, writers, curators, museums, galleries, and cultural organizations to develop editorial projects, publications, and creative direction. These are cultural partnerships — built with the same care and institutional integrity we bring to our own work.
